Short History of Varsity Jacket

Varsity jacket also called as Letterman Jacket, Baseball Jacket and also College Jacket. In Malaysia it is well known as VARSITY JACKET.

The history of varsity jackets began in 1865, the Harvard University’s baseball team added the letter ‘H’ to thier flannel shirt. Only the best players were afforded the opportunity to keep their letters. Varsity letterman jackets gained popularity in the early part of the 20th century, and they had transformed to wool jackets with leather sleeves by 1930. Since then, the popularity of varsity jackets has steadily grown to the current time and now the varsity jacket fever has spread to Malaysia.
